Living in The Holy Land

I wast 6 years old when my father was assigned to work in Israel and let me tell you those wore the best years of my life. My experience did not start in a very spontaneous way, I actually experienced a lot of hardship before I was officially enjoying my life in Israel. I experienced many things as a child growing up in a foreign land. I did not know the language, the people, and the fact that there was a place called Israel. Moving to a foreign country actually scared me at first.

I still remembered the first day of class and how terrified I was. Being the only Filipino or even Asian in the class made me feel out of place and just discouraged to even go to class. One time I made a story that I was being bullied by one of my classmates so that the school would call my mom and I would be sent home. My home and my parents were my safe haven at the time, whenever I feel that I am away from them just gave me anxiety.
As the years went by, I gradually grew fond of the people around me and going to school, I was gradually learning the language which helped me gain some friends in the process. Living in Israel was not easy, it had its ups and downs. People get surprised when I tell them that I spent my childhood growing up in Israel. They would always ask, "Is it scary?", and I would always say that it's not scary at all. I was scared when we first came but other than that Israel is an amazing place to live and it has become one of the homes.
